Glass fences have become an indispensable architectural detail residential and business facilities. The openness of the balcony or terrace realized by a combination of metal and glass increases the amount of natural lights inside the object and the width of the view, thus contributing to a person feels more comfortable in that space.

Types of glass railings

We distinguish between continuous and dotted glass fences.
Continuous fences consist of glass segments of the most common length 100-130cm and height 100-110cm, between which a space of 1cm is left, and from the support or floor profile of the fence. The floor profile is installed directly on the base, with the proviso that if there is a balcony or terrace floor falling towards the fence, small openings are left on the load-bearing profiles, and in this way, atmospheric water is prevented from being retained from the inside sides of the fence. This detail does not need to be done if the profile attaches to the existing parapet of the balcony. Also, at the customer's request, on handles of different patterns can be installed on the upper side of the glass color.

With point glass fences, there is an opening between the glass and the floor a couple of centimeters, and the glass itself is attached with point brackets which are continuously distributed at certain intervals along the fence line. It is possible to install a steel frame or just columns, and inside them to mount the glass or to fasten it to the substrate to some of the point supports. If a system with spider supports is used, on the glass segments, holes are drilled in the lower part and through them carriers pass through. Because of the holes in the glass, it is recommended that it heat treated by tempering. Fences with spider brackets are special represented on staircases with complex geometry.

Types of glass fence profiles
